Movies over the Holidays

It’s Christmas Time.  From “American Thanksgiving” to Christmas, certainly time for HOLLYWOOD to roll in some large donaro.  They haven’t been too good over the past few seasons with good material, but many are calling this Holiday Season different........a good start with “Argo” and “Skyfall” didn’t hurt.......

1)    “Life of Pi” the story of an Indian teenager who loses his parents and get’s stranded on a boat, with a Tiger.  It’s an Ang Lee adaptation that did well on the Film Fest circuit and so far,  getting great reviews!  My family concurs.

 2)    Lincoln.....saw this one; Daniel Day Lewis is awesome (as always) but it’s long, and you’d better be into American History if you go to this one.  More politics and less Civil War, or action.

3) The Hobbit.....it’s out Thursday.  Based on the book, this is the story *before* the stories we’ve all seen so far.  Jay Herrington is sporting a Gandalf Sheppard Staff!

4)    Stand up Guys......how but this, also this  weekend.  Al Pacino and Christopher Walken.  Pacino’s character gets out of jail, his old best friend & buddy, over the hill con man (Walken) picks him up, and off they go.  Only thing is, Walken’s character has got a contract on his old pal to pay out....

 5)    And if you’re a Tarrentino Fan, “Django Unchained” set in the South, just a couple years before the Civil War (1860’s), Don Johnson, Jamie Foxx and Leo Dicaprio.  It’s about a bounty hunter.
