Sign up now to bowl on March 11th for the 18th Annual Max Keeping Bowlathon! No bowling finesse needed. No entry fee! Get a team of six, raise a minimum of $50 each or more in pledges, and qualify for fabulous prizes (none for bowling!). This is a birthday party! Cake, loot bags and gifts for everyone! The Max Keeping Foundation stages an annual Bowlathon to raise the critical funds necessary to help meet the growing community need in our region. Our mission is to help disadvantaged children and their families whose health, emotional, physical and emergency needs for assistance do not meet the criteria for support from other charities. Education – Scholarships for young mothers at Youville Centre, Crown wards of the Children’s Aid, teen substance abuse programs and pregnant students at St. Mary’s Home. Children’s Camps – Y-Camp, various local day camps , Christie Lake and camps for children with special needs. Recreation and Sport - The Max Keeping Foundation is expanding its partnership with the community, in order to impact more economically disadvantaged children, with a priority to ensuring they have access to sports and recreation including hockey, soccer and football. Health and Medical - Medical assistance and medical equipment such as lifts, beds, and specific toys used in therapy. Over the past seventeen years more than 12,000 members of the community have participated at Max Keeping Birthdate Bowlathon and supported the Foundation. More than 900 enthusiastic, no experience necessary bowlers participate annually for a day of family fun and celebration. Prizes are awarded to the bowlers with the highest pledges, best costumes and team spirit. Hundreds of local companies and businesses have supported this event since its inception in 1994.
