All the Bond's I know, I know

Posted By: Gonzo · 11/13/2012 3:50:00 PM

Bond, James Bond;

It’s a wild thing, when a franchise, or series can run a whole lifetime (and beyond) and still stay relevant.

The 23rd installment of James Bond was released this past week.  Daniel Craig returns in “Skyfall.”

He’s been BOND for 3 films now, and Jay says he's a good Bond.

Kaz saw the Movie and claims her Husband got skin-wood.

That's another way of saying, goose bumps (;

My favourite Bond was easily Sean Connery, the first one.

Other Bonds include; George Lazenby (for one movie), Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and now the new guy.

You should see the list of Bonds, that could have been.

Either they turned it down, or it turned them down.

The writer who wrote the books, Ian Fleming, would have chosen Brit David Niven, who did appear in a pilot, the original "Casino Royale," but it wasn't the same ...

Rantings from the Supermarket Shelf

Posted By: Jay Herrington · 11/13/2012 6:42:00 AM

November is a great time of year to make a big, steaming crockpot full of chili. In recently buying the various ingredients I was reminded of an irritant....

If I was in charge, the canned tomatoes and the canned tomato sauce would be in the same aisle at the grocery store. If I’m buying one, I’m buying the other. I get that one is a sauce and one is a canned fruit disguised as a vegetable. But, c’mon.

I’d put the vegetable bouillon powdered or cubed broth mixtures right next to the soup. You have liquid broth next to the soups but the powered mixes to MAKE broth in with the gravies. Makes no sense.

"Spices". That’s not an ingredient. If I’m looking at the listed ingredients on the back of a package of highly processed food-stuffs, I’m doing so for a reason. Paprika is a spice. Cinnamon is a spice. ...

The Electoral Collage

Posted By: Jay Herrington · 11/6/2012 7:15:00 AM

It's election day in the United States - and my vote probably isn't going to count.
Yes - I voted. I was born in Massachusetts and have lived in Canada for all but three of my months on this planet --  and that allows me a vote south of the border. American on paper, Canadian at heart.

But with any democratic system where supposedly "every vote counts" - mine probably won't. Absentee ballots aren't counted unless the vote is so close that there needs to be a recount.  Not likely to be the case in Massachusetts.

Many other votes won't (perhaps) count either -- because of this whole mess they call the Electoral College.  Dumbed down -- here's what it's all about.
Americans don't really vote for a President. Each state has a number of "Electors", chosen by the two parties - regular people, generally rewarded for years of service ...

My Darn Green Bin!!!

Posted By: Gonzo · 11/1/2012 5:28:00 PM

Hey, after all of these years in Ottawa, I finally got my brand new GREEN BIN!!!! (That calls for a Polka)

You know, even though my neighbours and I were paying for one, we never got one.  Not that any of us needed one in the first place.  Out in the sticks, everybody’s been composting, burning – or feeding the animals, like forever.

Funny part of the story is -- that I was part of the pilot project to bring these things in, in the first place.  So I guess they wanted my opinion, but not really......

And that’s the problem with amalgamation; the cities needs don’t always match up with the needs of those of us in the RR’s.

How many Cities do YOU know where you can drive through 5 country concessions, and still be in the City?

I thought the outskirts, were the outskirts?  Not the 'in-skirts.'

Sandy: Real or Fake

You might have noticed a slew of Sandy-related pics popping up all over your Facebook page. You know, the statue of liberty almost getting washed away by giant waves, sharks swimming in New Jersey neighbourhoods. Just in case you were about to believe the hype, here's the truth.

NSFW - What did Colbert Say?

Posted By: Leslie Kaz · 10/26/2012 7:51:00 AM

You heard the edited version on the Kazerazzi. Now here's the real deal. Brace up. This is some funny-ass s#%t!

In case you missed the story, Donald Trump has offered to donate $5 million to Obama's charity of choice provided he releases his college records and any past passports applications. Why? Because Trump enjoys beating a dead horse - well at least firguratively. Then again maybe I should ask for his veterinary records.

Anyhoo, as The Donald continues to make a giant ass of himself, others pile on to help. Many thanks to Stephen Colbert for this moment of awesome-ness.
