Bruce Pavitt

Bruce Pavitt became a media darling in the early '90s when the label he founded, Sub Pop Records, was accredited with starting the "Seattle Sound" and launching the careers of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, and Tad, among others. Going from financial insolvency to cover stories in Spin, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, and Vogue within months of the release of Nirvana's Nevermind album, Pavitt's label was regarded as the life blood and true embodiment of not only the Seattle ethos, but the entire underground rock community as well.
